The One Where My Car Got Stolen-Part Two

You can read the first installment in this mini series here!

Dispatcher: "Sir, we have recovered your vehicle with a large amount of tools. You can pick it up here."

The drive to pick up my car was the longest 15 minutes of my life. I didn't know what to expect when I saw it. I spent so much time crying, being angry, waiting and not really feeling like myself.

We pulled up to the back of an apartment complex and there "Subi" was. My reaction was numb. That was all I felt. It was like I was living this life I did not know. Was this really happening to me? I thought. The car no longer felt like mine. At the same time, I was very anxious to get out and run to my car.

The officers greeted us.

Officer: "Good Morning, my name is Officer SO AND SO. Sorry to call you so early, but is this your vehicle?"
Us: "Yes, this is our "Subi"."
Officer: "We received a call at 4:30 this morning about an individual syphoning gas out of a Uhaul. The person reporting this yelled at the guy and he took off and dumped it back here. Can you please open the vehicle and show us if stuff belongs to you?"
We open the vehicle and it is stacked full of tools.
Us: "None of this belongs to us."
Officer: "Oh no, that is not good. Looks like I will have to call the evidence van to pick this stuff up."

We start going through the front seat of the vehicle looking for anything that was ours, to no availability. I did, however, find a needle. The officers came and took the needle and started looking for any drug paraphernalia. Luckily, they did not find any. We waited about an hour for them to unload and document all tools, cigarettes and clothing items inside. After all items were removed, we took back possession of the vehicle.

We immediately stopped for gas, it was questionable if we'd make it down the street, but we did. I drove Babes car, because I just couldn't drive mine.

Once back at the house, Babes brought in 3 receipts. All of which were in the center console. They showed purchases made by the suspect within the past few days. I searched the car a short time later and found multiple receipts and such.

Babes gets ready and goes to work. I get ready for work and call the detectives office promptly at 8:03AM. I tell the detective Babes found receipts and I found paperwork of some sort. The detective asked if he could come meet me. I said of course. He meets me and I give him all of the info I have and he tells me he will be in touch.

I start working with the insurance company over the next few days. The adjuster comes out 5 days later and inspects the car and tells us how much the damage is(it was in some kind of accident, but nothing too terrible). There are some other details that I can't really go into, but I was talking to the detective frequently.

Thursday 12/8, I got up and decided to go to the gym. I get dressed, fill my water bottle and I am pumped to run for the first time in 3 weeks! I walk outside, lock my door, turn around..........

AND MY CAR IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!!!!!!!!
