No Sugar Coating....

This morning, the scale read 138.8. As far as healthy living, working out and getting to the "goal weight" goes...I have been slacking. I could use the car theft as an excuse. However, I won't. I haven't had the motivation to do anything. My size 4 jeans still fit, although too snug for my liking. I have a few things I am thinking of doing:

  1. Training for a half marathon at the end of April.
  2. LiveFit program.
  3. Focusing on solely losing the weight and getting to my goal with cardio, weights and Jillian Michael's.
I am always torn, especially of late, as to what I want to do.

I don't love running like I used to, but I still like it. I just hate going head on and having to work back up to "where I was before". I was averaging 9:30 miles or better. When I started, it took me 15 minutes to run/walk a mile. Now, I run a mile in 10:30ish and I always feel defeated. Ummm...hello self....maybe you should run more than 2 days a month. I have decided not to beat myself up about it because I am far better than where I started in 2008, right?

I have seen amazing results from the LiveFit program on other blogs and it really inspires me. I have always been interested in doing a "body building" type of program. Growing up, my dad and uncles were really big into body building, they even competed. I guess I just get concerned that after phase one(NO CARDIO), I would forget how to do cardio (haha). Really though, it is the fear of the weight room and the people in it that actually know what they are doing. I hate looking like I don't know what I am doing. I just need to get over that fear!

I don't necessarily feel like focusing on just weight loss is beneficial to me. I am small and carry my weight well. I think toning up is more of the way I should go, rather than killing myself over the number on the scale. However, cardio and the Ripped In 30 DVD, should make me a lean little machine.

Ahhh.....Decisions, decisions!

Any thoughts?

Catch me up on you! I miss my blogging friends! I still read everyone's blogs, but haven't been commenting much.

The One Where My Car Got Stolen-Part 3

Part One here

Part Two: here

I look up and down the street. "Subi" is not there. *I must be effing crazy*, I thought to myself. I unlock the door, run upstairs, open the bedroom door

Me: "Babe!!!!!"
Babe: dead asleep "What??"
Me: "The car is gone AGAIN!"
Babe: "You are f*cking kidding me!!!"
He jumps out of bed, looks out the window and sure enough, the car is gone again!! AGAIIN!!!!

I call dispatch and let the operator know my car has been stolen again. I receive a call back from an officer on duty, give him the information on the car, explain to him that this is the second time(the first time it was stolen was exactly 2 weeks to the day it was stolen the second time!), and he says "Okay, we will let you know if we find anything."

I get dressed for work, call my insurance company, call my detective, let him know it happened again, and then headed to work.

Tell people at work the car is gone again, post on Facebook that the car is gone again *be on the lookout for*, and start the "waiting process" over again.

We had very credible leads that these people lived somewhere in a city about 10 minutes from us and in the following days, we drove through this city 3 times. Little did we know, we were driving past the street the car was on, but never going down it.

A lot happened over the next few days. Having your car stolen is a process...a LONG AGGRAVATING PROCESS!

Fast forward to 12/17 at 9:00AM. Babes looks at his phone and sees a voicemail from a local number.

"Hello Mr. S, I am *Guy from Police Department*. I wanted to let you know your car has been recovered and will be in evidence until approximately 12/26. It has been involved in an accident and we did take a suspect into custody. If you have questions you can call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx"

So, we anxiously await word on what happened, who they caught, etc.

That night, I was sitting on the couch and I kept thinking 'Who could it be?'. Until finally, it hit me. I saw a name on a stack of CD's that I had given to the detective. I decided to look it up in the 'Inmate Search' on the jail website. Hmmm...which *Dude's First Name* should I look at first. I will just start at the top. I open the first name on the list. Charges on said person, "Rec/transfer of stolen motor vehicle, fleeing causing property damage, No proof of insurance" I starting screaming his name and Babes(who I am sure thinks I am coo coo for the cocoa puffs) says, "Who's name is that?". I say, "The guy that stole our car, the guy that stole our car."

Waiting for answers starts all over again........

The next morning I get a call from an officer, he introduces himself and begins telling me the events from the morning of 12/17. He is the arresting officer. He apologizes for performing a PIT maneuver, while in pursuit of the suspect. He tells me my car is damaged, but he does not know to what extent. I spoke to him for over an hour and he really is my hero, I swear haha.

More waiting. Finally a few days after Christmas, we are allowed to see the car.

I had previously gotten pictures from a detective, but it did the damage NO justice. In person, I could tell when we got out that it was totaled. Which, the adjuster told us it was right after we introduced ourselves.

The case is ongoing, but getting closer to some sort of closure. I did get a new car, and I LOVE IT! I did have to replace quite a bit of items that were stolen from the car.

Having a car stolen to some may seem like no big deal, but it is a bigger deal than one would think. The mixed feelings I have had, the anger I have felt, the fear of having my newer more expensive car stolen, the violation I feel, the anger I feel for having some irreplaceable items stolen, and the hassle of insurance(not so much our insurance because THEY ROCK, but having to file claims/answer a million questions/constant phone calls back and forth).

Now, we are moving on and hoping this guy gets a good long sentence.

Thanks for hanging out for this 3 part story, which was only meant to be 2, but my car was stolen the 2nd time the day after I posted part one. How crazy is that?

I will be back soon, NOT talking about stolen cars ;)

The One Where My Car Got Stolen-Part Two

You can read the first installment in this mini series here!

Dispatcher: "Sir, we have recovered your vehicle with a large amount of tools. You can pick it up here."

The drive to pick up my car was the longest 15 minutes of my life. I didn't know what to expect when I saw it. I spent so much time crying, being angry, waiting and not really feeling like myself.

We pulled up to the back of an apartment complex and there "Subi" was. My reaction was numb. That was all I felt. It was like I was living this life I did not know. Was this really happening to me? I thought. The car no longer felt like mine. At the same time, I was very anxious to get out and run to my car.

The officers greeted us.

Officer: "Good Morning, my name is Officer SO AND SO. Sorry to call you so early, but is this your vehicle?"
Us: "Yes, this is our "Subi"."
Officer: "We received a call at 4:30 this morning about an individual syphoning gas out of a Uhaul. The person reporting this yelled at the guy and he took off and dumped it back here. Can you please open the vehicle and show us if stuff belongs to you?"
We open the vehicle and it is stacked full of tools.
Us: "None of this belongs to us."
Officer: "Oh no, that is not good. Looks like I will have to call the evidence van to pick this stuff up."

We start going through the front seat of the vehicle looking for anything that was ours, to no availability. I did, however, find a needle. The officers came and took the needle and started looking for any drug paraphernalia. Luckily, they did not find any. We waited about an hour for them to unload and document all tools, cigarettes and clothing items inside. After all items were removed, we took back possession of the vehicle.

We immediately stopped for gas, it was questionable if we'd make it down the street, but we did. I drove Babes car, because I just couldn't drive mine.

Once back at the house, Babes brought in 3 receipts. All of which were in the center console. They showed purchases made by the suspect within the past few days. I searched the car a short time later and found multiple receipts and such.

Babes gets ready and goes to work. I get ready for work and call the detectives office promptly at 8:03AM. I tell the detective Babes found receipts and I found paperwork of some sort. The detective asked if he could come meet me. I said of course. He meets me and I give him all of the info I have and he tells me he will be in touch.

I start working with the insurance company over the next few days. The adjuster comes out 5 days later and inspects the car and tells us how much the damage is(it was in some kind of accident, but nothing too terrible). There are some other details that I can't really go into, but I was talking to the detective frequently.

Thursday 12/8, I got up and decided to go to the gym. I get dressed, fill my water bottle and I am pumped to run for the first time in 3 weeks! I walk outside, lock my door, turn around..........

AND MY CAR IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!!!!!!!!

The One Where My Car Got Stolen On Thanksgiving-Part One

Please note: This is a healthy living blog, however, I am taking some time to write out the whole story of my car being stolen. We will be back to regularly scheduled blogging(once i get on top of it again!) shortly!

The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, I went to the liquor store(Champagne(pronounced in our home "sham pag neee"(Yes, I did 2 parentheses in one)). I got home around 9 PM and went inside for some movies with my love and babies.

Thanksgiving morning, I got up and puttered around the house for a while. I read the paper, drank a few glasses of mimosas, played Super Mario Brothers(Addicted!!!) and started cooking dinner. Around 11:45, I decided it was time to go to my dad's to say hello and happy thanksgiving. I looked out the window and something didn't seem right. 'Where is my car?', I thought.

I asked Babes, "Did you move my car?"

"No, why would I move your car?"

I ran outside to look up and down our complex(we live in a town home) and my car was nowhere to be seen. I instantly started bawling my eyes out, "My car is missing! *Pause to process* Someone stole my F*CKING CAR!"

Babes calls the police while I am simultaneously calling the insurance company to report it stolen.

While we are waiting for the police, Babes looks out the window and says, "I think the neighbor's car was stolen, too! They are pointing to where it looks like their car would be parked."

So, I walked outside, and across the street to the neighbor's door. "I have maybe the stupidest question for you. Was your car stolen?"

"Yeah, do you know where it is?" said the neighbor kid, who also happened to be talking to the police at the time.

"Ummmm....I wish! I am sure it is with my car that has also been stolen." Mind you, I am having this conversation in short shorts, a tank top, no shoes, messed up hair, and janky "just woke up to find my car has been stolen and all I have done is cry my eyes out" face.

I said my goodbye's and walked back home to tell Babes "Yep! There's is gone too!"

15 minutes pass by and the officer shows up. He asks basic info of the car, when we last drove/saw it, if we had seen anything unusual the night before, and so on.

He was at our house for about 5-10 minutes and went to take the neighbor's statement.

Thanksgiving is a day to be thankful and I am EVERYDAY! However, I was not thankful to have my car stolen on that day!

The rest of the day was spent letting my family know what had happened, enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at home, and continuing to be in shock because I thought 'Nothing like this would ever happen to me!'

Car Missing Day 1: No New Information
Car Missing Day 2: No New Information
Car Missing Day 3: No New Information
Car Missing Day 4: No New Information
Car Missing Day 5: No New Information
Car Missing Day 6: No New Information
Car Missing Day 7: The phone rings at 4:59AM. We have been waiting for this call for a week!

Babes answers, "Hello!"
From the other line, "Hello, is your name blankity blank? Did you report a kind of car stolen?"
Babes, "Yes, I did!"
Other person, "Sir, do you do any kind of construction or dry wall work out of this vehicle?"
We looked at each other thinking, 'NO! Why?'

Gaining Happens!

I remember the moment I got under 130! That was a big goal for me.

I remember the moment I got under 125! A weight I hadn't seen since 7th grade.

Today, I saw 134. In 1 year, I gained 10 pounds! Now, up until last month I had gained only 5 pounds and would teeter totter up to 131 and back down to 127 or 128. In the past 3 weeks, I haven't seen anything under 130. Talk about disappointing.

I refuse to beat myself up, because weight gain happens! I have the control to change it now before the 10 turns to 20!

I completed day 3 of the 30 day shred this morning. I took before pics on Saturday AM. I will take new pics and new measurements at day 10, 20 and 30.

Breakfast today rocked!

1 dippy egg, 1 slice honey whole wheat toast, and a juicy peach. I ate this 3 and a half hours ago and still feel fine.

Let's hope I can keep up on the good eating and workouts. I have 2.5 miles of running to do today after work also.

Saying goodbye for this!!

I hope you are all having a good day!!

1254

That is the number of calories consumed today. I did not work out, so I still had about 413 of a deficit. I am back to tracking and weight loss starting today. Although I maintained my weight very well over the past few months, I am ready to get to losing again!

I have not started training for anything, but I find that having a plan keeps me motivated. Does anyone know of any iPhone apps that help track and build training plans? I toilets boy dog, Lenny, running this past saturday AM and he sure makes me push myself harder!

Y'all remember that cute face, right? I love those freckles!!

Anyway, I have had a rough couple of weeks that left me feeling tired, sluggish and unmotivated, but I am ready to get back to running and gymming(I just made that a word!).

I leave you with 2 tips to help in losing some lbs.
1. When eating chinese, use chopsticks. Those things are hard(for me anyway) to use.
2. When using said chopsticks, be sure to drop food alll over yourself. Less calories, right? Right!

See you again real soon!!
